HPM Homes Pre-approved Models

HPM Building Supply offers nine pre-approved home plans to help Hawai'i Island residents build a home that fits, faster and more economically.

The permitting phase of building a home can be a lengthy process, but with HPM Pre-Approved Homes you can fast-track this process and expedite review with the County of Hawai'i Building Division, getting you one step closer to your home. Whether this is your first home or first time building a home, our pre-approved floorplans make a complex process simpler so you can save time and start constructing your new home sooner.

HPM’s Pre-Approved Homes program is exclusively available on Hawai'i Island. 

Low Wind Zone Pre-Approved Models are applicable to most East Hawai’i Island regions. High Wind Zone Pre-Approved Models are designed with specific structural engineering needed to meet the requirements for many West Hawai’i Island regions and some locations on East Hawai'i Island.

Building your dream home on Hawai'i Island? We've got you covered with pre-approved models designed for different wind conditions across the island.

  • East Hawai'i: Most areas here can use our standard Low Wind Zone models.
  • West Hawai'i and some East Hawai'i regions: These areas often need our specially engineered High Wind Zone models.


Not sure which you need? Don't worry! Check out the simple wind zone map. If your property is in the 130 mph wind speed area, you'll want to go with one of our High Wind Zone models. These are planned with additional structural engineering, specifically for your area.
